As you all know from my blog, I am a HUGE TRON fan! But, I can;t help but wonder what TRON 3 will have in store for us...
I refuse to believe that Flynn was killed during his reintegration with CLU. He had too much power in The Grid to allow such a process to destroy him. FLYNN LIVES damn it!
Flynn said that the Iso's would change everything we thought or knew about being human and our beliefs. But, exactly how would they? Quorra is now in the world of the Users. Her digital DNA is now flesh and blood, but how exactly could she reshape the human condition?
Hopefully all of these questions and more will be answered in TRON 3.
What are your takes and speculations?

I don't think Flynn is dead either. After all Users are pretty much gods in the digital world, so he would be able to find a way to cheat death. After all, in the first one Flynn threw himself into the beam from the MCP, an act that would have killed a Program, yet he survived. I think a third movie should revisit the Encom system. It's possible that a copy of Tron could be in the archives, and he would have no memory of what happened to the Tron in Flynn's system. Save us from the whole "Rinsler is Tron" thing that I thought was just a cheap way to have Tron in the movie without being Tron.

In the PC game, TRON 2.0, we do revisit the EN-82 server (the old Encom system) and the programs archived the TRON Legacy upgrade code... all that was left of TRON after he "retired" shortly after the destruction of the MCP.
basically, the Legacy code was an upgrade to the original TRON security program that was designed to protect the system from Users, of all things! An interesting and disturbing thought...
I think having TRON be Rinzler was an interesting twist, symbolizing Clu's corrupt view of perfection by turning a symbol of peace into a symbol of absolute control. But, I'm not sure of returning to the old system would be a good move. They might change it too much... and it would probably become the next 2009 USS Enterprise.

You raise a point that I wanted to bring up at some point. In the 30 years or so between the 2 movies, we had the game you mentioned, comics, and who knows how many fan fictions about what happened after Flynn left the Encom system. Anything Legacy was going to do was not going to make everyone happy, and Tron 3 will also have that problem. My fear is that the third movie will be a reverse of the first one, with Quorra taking the stranger ion a strange land theme, and having her have god-like powers in the User world.
